SELF ESTEEM
& CONFIDENCE
What is self esteem?
Self esteem comes from a Latin word that means to estimate.
So how much self esteem you have depends on how you ‘estimate’ yourself. You come up with this ‘estimation’ by comparing different parts of your life with other people. If you think you match up your self-esteem is high, but, if you don’t think you are good enough your self esteem is low.
Feeling good about yourself can shape your life in a positive way.
Relationships
Sometimes when you have low self-esteem you might feel that you need to have a boyfriend or a girlfriend to make you happy, If you start a relationship when you feel like this you might rely too heavily on your girlfriend or boyfriend, have unrealistic expectations of the relationship and not be as happy as you thought you would be.
Being comfortable with who you are before you begin a relationship can have a positive impact on the relationship.
It is important that you love yourself, that you know your self-worth and know that you deserve to be happy.
